The reasons for this difference are further revealed in the following sections from the perspective of 1000Base-T and 1000Base-TX.Fiber optic communication network 1000BASE-T generally uses four pairs of twisted pairs to complete 1000Mbps data transmission, each pair of twisted pairs to transmit 250Mbps data stream.However, since the design bandwidth of Cat5e twisted pair is only 100MHz, in order to realize the two-way transmission of 1000Mbps network, it must meet the requirements of using all 4 pairs of lines (full duplex), supporting data rate of 250Mbps for each pair of lines (in each direction), sending 125M symbols per second and so on.
On the other hand, because each link must transmit the signal in both directions, this increases the possibility of error code.As a result, full-duplex operation of network equipment requires the addition of a large number of crosstalk/echo cancellation DSP processors to enable network equipment to correctly identify each square wave signal, resulting in a significant increase in the average port cost of a switch that supports 1000 base-t.
Although 1000BASE-TX is also based on four twisted pairs of wires, it uses two pairs of wires to send signals and two pairs of wires to receive signals. The cable itself does not conduct bidirectional transmission.As a result, crosstalk between cables is also greatly reduced, further reducing the cost of network interfaces.However, due to the reduced efficiency of using cables (two pairs of cable receiving, two pairs of cable sending), the bandwidth required to achieve a 1000Mbps transmission rate is in excess of 100MHz, so Cat5 and Cat5e systems cannot support this type of network, only Cat6 systems can support this type of network.
From the above analysis, it can be concluded that, because of the working mode of 1000BASE-TX, compared with Cat5e system, Cat6 system has stronger anti-interference ability, which enables it to be widely used in various places.
