1. Network cable selection
The network cable is widely used in the weak current system. It is recommended to pay attention to the core material, core diameter and sheath material of the network cable when selecting the network cable.
① Core material of the Network cable
At present, the core materials of network cables are mainly oxygen-free copper, aluminum, copper clad aluminum, and copper clad iron. The oxygen-free copper is the best and best quality wire. It is usually used in the POE power supply system with small resistance to avoid power loss during transmission.In a general monitoring system, it is recommended to use the national standard oxygen-free copper core material as the link to transmit data and power to the camera.
② Core diameter of network cable
National standard network cable: the core of national standard network cable is made of oxygen-free copper.The size of the copper diameter of the super class 5 network cable can reach 0.51mm;The core of six types of network cable is made of oxygen free copper, and the core diameter can reach 0.58mm.
Non-standard network cable: non-standard super five types of network cable copper core wire will not do enough 0.51mm, generally 0.48mm, in order to save costs, the selection of materials will generally be copper coated aluminum, aluminum wire, etc.
③ Materials for the network cable sheath

2, optical fiber
Optical fiber is mainly used in the vertical trunk system of the integrated wiring system and the sub-system of the architectural complex. It is used for long-distance transmission, and has the advantages of large bandwidth and strong anti-interference.According to the transmission modes, optical fibers can be divided into multi-mode optical fibers and single-mode optical fibers. The two have the following characteristics:
① Different light sources
Single-mode fiber uses laser diode LED as the light source, and multi-mode fiber light source uses LED as the light source.
②Different transmission modes
Single-mode fiber is only the transmission of a mode of light wave, small dispersion, large bandwidth, commonly used bandwidth of 1G/10G/40G, etc., generally suitable for long-distance transmission up to 100KM.
Multi-mode fiber transmits multi-mode light source, which will produce light dispersion. The commonly used bandwidth is 1G/10G, and the transmission distance is relatively short, generally within 2KM.
Now the price of single-mode fiber and multi-mode fiber is relatively close, and many weak current systems directly choose single-mode fiber for long-distance transmission.
3,The power cord
The power cable commonly used in weak current system is RVV cable. At present, the main specifications of monitoring power cable are RVV2x0.5, RVV2X1.5 and RVV2X1.5. These three kinds are two-core sheath cables.Now choose the specifications of the power cord generally according to experience:
① If the number of cameras is less than 40 meters, usually about 4, you can use rVV2X0.5 power cable to separately pull the cable to the monitoring host or switch, and then use the monitoring switch power supply.
② If more than 40 meters, the number of cameras is large, can use 220V centralized power supply, and then to the end of the camera voltage 12V power supply to the camera, can use RVV2X1.5 or RVV2X1.5 cable power supply.
